Following a recent ballot of businesses in Fleet, businesses have voted in favour of a second five-year programme of activity for the Business Improvement District. This secures a second term for the business-led and business-funded group and an investment of £570,000 in Fleet over the next five years.

This investment will focus on high street recovery in the key areas of:

  • · Marketing and Events
  • · Business Support
  • · Improving the experience and enhancing the look of Fleet
  • · Influencing the future of Fleet town centre

Tyler Harman, Chair of the Fleet Business Improvement District says, “Fleet became a Business Improvement District in 2017. Since then so much has changed. COVID has accelerated the shift from town centres being somewhere that people go just to shop to meeting places and social centres with a broader range of businesses and more housing. How town centres are used and how they operate is rapidly changing – and will continue to change.

“With this investment in Fleet, the BID will be able to continue with activities to promote Fleet and the businesses located here, to continue the programme of events we know the local community love which bring people into the town and to ensure businesses’ views are represented. With the new BID term we hope that even more businesses will get involved, join the Board to shape the activities the BID delivers and help shape the future of our town.”
